What is advertising?
Advertising is sending a message to the mass users of WebChat.
This can be:
a) Messaging a single channel with the URL or channel name.
b) Private messaging users with the aid of advertising bots.
c) Using the /invite to mass invite users you don't know to make them join your channel.

So why is advertising so bad, and why is not allowed?
We ban advertising for a variety of reasons. When you receive an advert it is annoying, as 99% of the time we didn't want to see it. Adverts waste our time.

What will happen to me if I advertise?
If you advertise, you will always be caught, and then dealt with according to the circumstances. When you connect to WebChat you see the MOTD, and this states that advertising is not allowed. Therefore if you choose to break the rules, then you will be punished.
When we find you advertising, we will give you one warning to stop. If you do not stop and continue to advertise, then you will be banned from WebChat for 30 minutes, and the channel will be mass kicked.
If after 30 minutes you come back and AGAIN advertise, then we will close your channel down for seven (7) days. In the unlikely event that after it has been reopened, that advertising continues then it will be closed down again, and only when we reach an agreement with the founder will it be reopened.

How can I get people to join my channel or visit my Website then?
You can make friends with users, and ask them to help you make your channel.
Or you can advertise your Website or channel away from WebChat.
Alternately, you could ask an advertising agency for additional help.
