What is Flooding? I don't even
know what it means!
Flooding is when you type many lines at a short time.
Those people who floods channels/private messages/services
cause many problems to the network. Due to this, we
have taken actions to ban any user caught flooding from
the WebChat IRC Network.e akill them from the network.
How can I prevent myself from
being akilled?
Quite simply, the best way to stop yourself from being
akilled is to simply, not to flood.
I flooded a channel. Now I
regret it. How long am I banned for?
Most AutoKills last for 30 minutes. These times vary
though depending on severity of the issue. Try to reconnect
to WebChat after 30 minutes and please do not flood
any more.
What if you are in a cyber
cafe and you have been akilled?
If you are on a cyber café and have been disconnected
for flooding, it's suggest you speak to the owner of
the cyber café and explain to him what happened
and that (s)he should go to this page, read the outlined
rules, and also try to find who has been abusing their
IRC priviliges.. That person is making everyone on the
cyber café suffer.
Who do I get in touch with
to complain?
If for some reason you believe you were incorrectly
disconnected from the WebChat IRC network you can do
a few things. You may email kline@webchat.org
with a copy of the AutoKill Message, your IP Address,
and a description of what happened. If the autokill
has expired, you may go to #klineteam on WebChat to
also receive information.
What is Threat? and What is Harrasement?
Threats are when you are threatening a user of things.
This can be threatening personal harm to the user, their
computer, anything.
Harassment on our network is simply when one user is
constantly bugging a user by swearing, flooding, saying
malicious things, etc.
